BUFFOONS AT SABC

The past week has been one thing walking on my mind if not the only thing, South African Broadcasting Cooperation (SABC). SABC board or sorry I meant to say SABC buffoons, the buffoons are busy cutting their noses to spite their/our faces. The destruction the buffoons doing at the public broadcaster is unacceptable even to the devil himself. To refresh your mind on Thursday (8 October) the Supreme Court of Appeal dismissed Hlaudi Motsoaneng’s appeal Western Cape High Court order he be suspended pending outcome of a disciplinary process.  The legal woes began when DA took SABC to court for failing to take disciplinary against its incompetent COO Motsoeneng as directed by the Public Protector, whose office probed governance failures at the public broadcaster. SABC now has less than two weeks to serve him with a list of charges. Immediately after the judgement SABC issued a statement saying they are studying the Supreme Court of Appeal’s judgement concerning its COO Hlaudi Motoseneng, and will consult internally before deciding on way forward. I ask myself what’s there to study because the judgement is simple and straightforward, suspend one of your buffoons (Motsoeneng) pending outcome of a disciplinary process. My heart nearly became to a halt when read the statement then after a second realised that a bunch of clowns at SABC would crack with huge laughter if they hear that someone like me had heart attack after reading their statement. SABC board never take anything serious let alone their job, or do they? “So our attitude is that we will wait for the employer to then give effect to the court order, in so far as the disciplinary proceedings are concern, and we will oblige accordingly” says Zola Majavu. Guess what happened the following day on Friday (9 October), the SABC has instructed its lawyers to lodge an agent appeal with the constitutional court in regards to the judgement laid down by the Supreme Court. “Mr Motsoeneng has not taken any matter with the Constitutional Court” says Zola Majavju (Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s lawyer). First thing that came into my mind is that, why would SABC lodge an agent appeal with the constitutional court!? Who took the matter to the Supreme Court of Appeal and who lost the appeal at the SCA!? How dare you SABC board make an appeal on behalf of Motsoeaneng!? What is that Hlaudi Motsoeneng has against the SABC board!? SCA said Thuli Madonsela as a watchdog should not be muzzled. SABC board is pulling out all guns to protect Motsoeneng, these SABC buffoons continue to waste tax payer’s money on him over and over again. We all know that SABC will lose the appeal at Constitutional Court. Then what’s next!? Motsoeneng has come out and said he respects the SCA’s judgement but before he could be suspended his employer should comply with the court order not himself. I agree with him but MAYBE he knew the buffoons at SABC would comply with his order that the public knows nothing about. It is now clear that the clowns at SABC are dancing to Motsoeneng’s tune. I concur with opposition parties when saying that the court’s confirmation that the Public Protector’s remedial action should not be ignored or trumped by the findings of parallel investigations. Will we ever see the current board of SABC clean after its mess? All I can say is that asking SABC board to deal with maladministration and corruption is like asking the Catholic Church to abolish the Holy Communion. What surprises me is that SABC board only issued a lame statement refusing profusely to come out and explain to the public, the arrogance they have shown is really appalling. Let me remind you buffoons at SABC, you serve the public’s interests so whatever the public is asking we expect you to comply. I would have understood if you sent the self-centred COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng to school, maybe, just maybe SABC would be in a better state of affairs.
